AIESEC-US, Inc. was founded in 1956 in New York City as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit to promote cultural understanding and international cooperation. Since that time, AIESEC US has expanded tremendously and has approximately 1500 community members in over 40 cities across the US.
NOTE: The acronym AIESEC is no longer expanded, and we use it simply as is. When AIESEC was founded it expanded to a French phrase that loosly translated to International Association of Students in Economics and Commerce.
AIESEC US is part of the global AIESEC network, which is the largest student-based association (it spans over 800 universities and 100 countries). AIESEC is dedicated to building international understanding and cooperation by providing young people with the tools and opportunities to become globally-minded, responsible leaders and connecting them to organizations worldwide.
AIESEC US helps companies with their international human resources needs either through developing international internship programs with them or by simply helping them bring employees over for training. AIESEC also helps companies with domestic recruiting and community outreach through sponsorship opportunities.
AIESEC US is a tremendous resource for US college students, who can participate in international communities on or near the over 40 universities AIESEC US is in. Through these communities, the students can also find opportunities to intern or volunteer abroad in one of the over 100 countries in AIESEC US's global network.
