AIESEC US Joins the Interact Club of Chinatown NYC to Empower Youth Through the 5K Red Run

At AIESEC in the United States, we believe that leadership starts with taking action, and that impact begins when young people come together for a cause greater than themselves.

Earlier this fall, AIESEC partnered with the Interact Club of Chinatown NYC, part of the Rotary Club of Chinatown, to support their 5K Red Run, a community initiative designed to promote youth engagement, global citizenship, and awareness around meaningful causes.

Running for Purpose

The 5K Red Run brought together more than 20 young participants and community members in New York City, each contributing their energy and enthusiasm to make a positive difference. AIESEC US proudly joined as a sponsor and participant, reinforcing our commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through local and global action.

Our members not only supported the event but also joined the run itself, embodying the AIESEC spirit of leadership through experience. From start to finish, the event reflected what collaboration between purpose-driven organizations can achieve when aligned around a shared mission: developing young leaders for a better world.

Empowering Youth Leadership

This collaboration with the Interact Club highlighted the importance of empowering youth-led organizations to connect, share experiences, and amplify their impact. By combining Rotary’s strong tradition of community service with AIESEC’s global network of young leaders, the partnership showcased the power of intergenerational cooperation to drive progress toward the SDGs.

“Moments like this remind us that leadership is not just about words, it’s about showing up, taking part, and inspiring others to do the same,”
said Yokelvy Vargas Prud-Home, Head of External Relations & Incoming Global Talent at AIESEC in the United States.

Moving Forward

The success of the 5K Red Run represents just the beginning of this partnership. Both AIESEC and the Interact Club of Chinatown plan to continue exploring opportunities to collaborate on future initiatives that foster leadership, cross-cultural understanding, and positive community impact.

Together, we are building bridges between youth organizations to create a more sustainable and connected world — one step, one run, and one partnership at a time.
